- See Mail Version 1.4
- ▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀
- By default the installer sets up the following directory tree -
-
- ├─ SM ────────┐ <<< Contains See Mail program, help, tools,
- │ └─ TOOLS documentation, and configuration files.
- │
- ├─ MAIL ──────┬─ INCOMING.FLD <<< Mail folders
- │ ├─ OUTGOING.FLD
- │ ├─ SENT.FLD
- │ ├─ DRAFTS.FLD
- └─ UNSENT.FLD
-
- If these defaults are not suitable for your own system and requirements
- the installer will allow you to change them.
-
- Created in the SM directory are batch files to start See Mail, and to load
- the memory resident MCI Mail access program. You will be asked if you are
- using MCI Mail, LAN Mail, or both, and the program then adjusts to match.
-
- You will need about 1.5mb of free disk space to install the complete
- system and all the documentation and tools.
-
-
- If you have an existing mail system, (such as Lotus Express, or Mail Clerk)
- you can optionally get See Mail to automatically read the old mail files.
-
- For other mail systems you can specify where the mail is located by
- giving the directory parameters See Mail should use to find them.
-
- For MCI Mail you will need to know your account details, and also the
- modem hardware and telephone numbers for dialing MCI. Once this all
- works correctly, you can then load the resident background mailer.
-
- For LAN system administrators, detailed instructions are given later
- for establishing the LAN mail system, and configuring users. You
- should install See Mail to your own PC, then configure it and copy it
- to the shared LAN system once this is correct.
-
- If you are UPDATING from a previous version of See Mail the installer
- will sense this and only update the new files, without the need for
- a complete re-install and re-configuring.
